3rd Line, London / Hybrid - 6-9 months day rate inside IR35
For this contract, our customer aren’t trying to think beyond the short term so even though Azure is required, more interested in Hyper-V, RemoteApp and really good Windows and “orbiting” technologies.
We’re looking for a Senior Support Engineer who can step straight into a London based /remote small team and deliver immediately with drive, energy, intellectual curiosity and technical capability. Looking for someone who wants to become a Site Reliability Engineer delivering the key technologies behind our Digital Product.
The role will work in both our Azure Native environment and co-location data centre. A good percentage of the line of business applications remain hosted on Hyper-V based Private Cloud and will need to be “fed and watered” until they are moved to new platforms or technologies, a task that this role will assist with.
The Azure environment is almost exclusively “Azure native” primarily hosting the Digital Product using technologies including Azure App Services, Azure SQL, Application Insights, Sentinel, Log Analytics, Azure Data Factory, with “as code” Bicep pipelines tied to Azure DevOps.
The End User Computing environment is increasingly moving across to Microsoft 365 where E5 licences offer a broad range of applications and security features.
Main responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to:
o Troubleshoot and resolve escalated IT issues via phone, web, and in-person.
o Ensure assigned incidents are resolved against the SLA with a view to maturing operations at every step.
o Proactively learn about and train other staff members on new product and service technologies.
o Maintain the operations of physical, virtual and cloud systems to ensure availability, reliability and integrity are maintained.
o Improve the operations of the Azure environment and broader platform services, operating systems and servers, networks and security technologies.
o Work with other teams to ensure the smooth operation of our Digital Product
o Other duties as directed by the line manager or other senior member of the Technology Services team.
