A Microsoft SSRS Report writer / Database enabled Applications developer. (Placed)
A Microsoft SSRS Report writer / Database enabled Applications developer is required for a Food manufacturing production business based in Chessington, Surrey.
This is a contract for 6-12 Months.
The successful candidate will be working with finance and production teams, assisting with designing, supporting, amending and maintaining:
- Reports on a MS SQL Server platform
- Spreadsheets, querying SQL Server using ODBC
- Microsoft Access applications, linking back to MS SQL server databases
- FileMaker forms, linking to iPad applications
- Microsoft InfoPath forms
There are a number of projects planned that will involve a lot of reports and small applications development.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop a high performing MS SSRS reports
- Recognise report data requirements and produce technical design specifications
- Understand and model data with an objective of discovering useful information, suggesting conclusions, and supporting decision-making
- Maintain and modify existing reports
- Proactively identify and assess risk
- Provide Ad-hoc reports when requested
Requirements:
- MTA: Microsoft Technology Associate and MCSA: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate
- Minimum of 4 years’ report writing SQL Reports
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft T-SQL
- SSRS – MS SQL server and SSIS – MS SQL experience
- Knowledge in creation, support & managing of reports using SSRS
- Experience with MS Excel spreadsheets using VBA linking to SQL Databases via ODBC
- Experience developing MS Access applications linking to SQL Server
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation and problem solving capabilities
- Ability work under pressure, independently and organise work efficiently, to prioritize demands
- Strong understanding of database design
- Understanding of SQL Server database administration
Beneficial Experience:
- Ideally have an educational degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or Mathematics / Physics related discipline (or equivalent)
- Experience with Sage finance/accounting/ERP software
- Experience with FileMaker linking to external databases
- Experience with Microsoft InfoPath forms
- Knowledge of Board business intelligence software
- Experience with Microsoft SSAS, OLAP, data mining and multi-dimensional modelling
