Intranet content Specialist

3-6 month contract for a SharePoint intranet content specialist

Our customer is seeking an Intranet Content Specialist to join our customer on an initial three-month contract for a high profile role.

Currently, the new intranet has not been populated and the successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing content and supporting a group of content creators from various teams within the business. The Intranet Content Specialist will also help facilitate a programme for training for the content creator group to ensure they are self-sufficient and able to populate their areas of the intranet.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of SharePoint as an intranet solution, be a self-starter, have a great eye for detail, and is at ease when editing copy.

The role holder will need to work closely with marketing, IT and senior leadership teams to ensure the content is consistent and in line with the company’s brand and vision for the future.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Ensure the current intranet is populated effectively with up-to-date content and consistent branding across the platform.
  • Lead a migration programme moving all documents and news from the existing platform to the new intranet.
  • Manage the intranet training programme for Content Editors which will be externally delivered.
  • Provide support to Content Creators and directorates within the business and ensure their intranet microsites are complete ahead of the internal launch.
  • Support with the internal launch campaign for the company intranet, and act as a first point of contact for queries from the business.
  • Develop template standards highlighting the expectation for each intranet microsite.

What experience are we looking for?

  • Internal communication experience
  • Extensive understanding of SharePoint – there will be a short test at interview
  • Has been involved in delivery of an end to end intranet implementation project
  • Creative thinker with a good eye for design
  • Writing for a wide range of audiences
  • Excellent self-management and self-motivation
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Proactive by nature, but with the skills and flexibility to act reactively when events dictate
  • Confident enough in expertise and experience to challenge the status quo and offer value-adding solutions
