This customer, an innovation, growth, technology focused consultancy, and is seeking a senior full-stack engineer to lead delivery and define the Laravel / Livewire / Vapor capability within the engineering team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role: you’ll architect, build, and operate new client systems using Laravel and Vapor, while shaping our internal best practices, frameworks, and standards for future full-stack engagements. You’ll work autonomously in a remote environment, directly with clients and alongside engineers from the wider cloud, API, and front-end teams.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead and own the architecture, design, and implementation of full-stack applications built with Laravel, Livewire, and Vapor.
● Run the Laravel / Vapor technology practice—establish technical direction, tooling standards, and reusable patterns for future projects.
● Collaborate with clients to translate business goals into robust, scalable technical solutions.
● Build and deploy serverless applications on AWS Lambda using Vapor, integrating with RDS, Redis, SQS, and S3.
● Design and maintain data models, caching strategies, and background processing pipelines.
● Set and uphold coding standards, testing coverage, and CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions and Vapor CLI.
● Mentor other engineers as they learn Laravel and serverless practices; review code and guide design decisions.
● Manage the technical relationship with clients—leading demos, technical discussions, and delivery updates.
● Ensure operational excellence in performance, security, and cost-efficiency of deployed systems.
● Contribute to reusable internal templates, documentation, and DevEx improvements for Laravel projects
Core Technical Skills
● Laravel 10+ – expert knowledge of Eloquent ORM, Service Container, Queues/Jobs, Events, API Resources, Middleware, Policies, and Validation.
● Livewire 3+ – advanced component composition, lifecycle understanding, and optimisation for dynamic UIs.
● AWS (essential): Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFront, SQS, Redis/ElastiCache, IAM, CloudWatch; experience deploying with Vapor.
● Azure (desirable): familiarity with comparable PaaS and data services.
● Databases: MySQL / PostgreSQL (RDS) / Aurora, query optimisation, migrations, seeding, transactions.
● Testing: Pest or PHPUnit, feature/unit testing, CI enforcement.
● Frontend: Blade, Tailwind CSS, Alpine.js; optional experience with Vue 3 / Inertia or React for richer UIs.
● Tooling: Composer, NPM, Vite, GitHub Actions, Vapor CLI, containerised local dev (Sail / Docker).
