We’re in the middle of an ambitious transformation programme, migrating a long-established platform from a legacy Laravel / PHP / MySQL architecture to a modern, cloud-native ecosystem built with C#, TypeScript, Next.js, PostgreSQL and Kubernetes.
The journey has been underway for several years, but advances in AI-assisted development have dramatically accelerated our pace over the last six months. With several major platform components still to be rebuilt, we’re looking for an exceptional engineer who wants to help shape the future of the business over the coming years.

The Role
We’re looking for someone who genuinely understands complex systems.
Someone who has seen how large software platforms evolve over time. Someone who can navigate legacy architectures, design elegant solutions, and rapidly deliver modern capabilities using the latest AI tools.
You’ll be working across:
- Large-scale platform migration and modernisation
- Cloud-native systems running within Kubernetes
- Complex third-party integrations
- High-value data and workflow automation
- Product development and platform architecture
- AI-assisted software engineering practices
- Performance, scalability, security and reliability improvements
You’ll have significant autonomy and ownership. While collaboration is central to how we work, we need someone capable of independently solving difficult technical challenges and driving solutions from concept through to production.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Strong experience designing and building complex software systems
- Deep understanding of software architecture and systems integration
- Experience working with both legacy and modern technology stacks
- Strong database design and data modelling skills
- Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of delivery
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, highly autonomous environment
Highly Desirable
- C# / .NET experience
- TypeScript and modern web development
- Next.js or comparable frameworks
- PostgreSQL
- Kubernetes and container-based architectures
- Cloud platform experience
- API and integration architecture
- Platform modernisation or migration programmes

We view AI as a force multiplier, not a novelty.
Our engineers actively use tools such as Codex and Claude as a core part of the development workflow. In many cases, implementation is increasingly generated by AI agents, allowing engineers to focus on architecture, design, validation, system thinking, and business outcomes.
Success in this role is not about typing code faster.
It’s about understanding problems deeply, designing the right solutions, directing AI effectively, and ensuring the resulting systems are scalable, maintainable, and robust.
