We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer / Systems Architect to join our customer during a major technology transformation.
There established platform is being migrated from a legacy Laravel / PHP / MySQL architecture to a modern, cloud-native stack built around C#, TypeScript, Next.js, PostgreSQL and Kubernetes.
With several major components still to be rebuilt, this is a key opportunity to influence the architecture, engineering practices and technical direction of the platform for years to come.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems and understanding how systems fit together.
You’ll work across platform modernisation, architecture, integrations, data and AI-enabled software development. You’ll have significant autonomy and will be expected to take ownership of problems from initial design through to production.
You’ll be involved in:
- Large-scale platform migration and modernisation
- Designing and building cloud-native services
- Kubernetes and container-based architectures
- Complex third-party integrations and APIs
- Data modelling and high-value data workflows
- Product and platform architecture
- Performance, scalability, security and reliability
- AI-assisted software development and engineering workflows
- Identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement
AI-Enabled Engineering
AI is a core part of the engineering approach rather than an experimental add-on.
Engineers use tools such as Codex and Claude throughout the development lifecycle, increasingly leveraging AI agents to accelerate implementation.
This means the role is less about simply writing code and more about:
- Understanding complex problems
- Designing robust solutions
- Directing and reviewing AI-generated implementation
- Validating architecture and system behaviour
- Maintaining high standards of security, quality and reliability
- Focusing engineering effort on high-value business outcomes
